Radio promises

On yesterday’s radio show we promised to post some info here, and it is:

To learn more about our guest, Ruby Roth, go to her site, www.veganislove.com

To read Adair’s blog post about crows, go to www.harlemfarm.blogspot.com

The folks doing the vegan podcast from London during the Olympics can be found at http://theVeganOption.org/

The Recipe of the Week (you’ll get the weekly recipe and bit of other info emailed to you if you sign up for the Main Street Vegan news-lette, i.e., sorta like a newsletter but shorter):

 RAW CAULIFLOWER POPCORN
from Philip McCluskey
If you don’t yet know Phil McCluskey (he contributed the “Grandma’s Lasagna” recipe to Main Street Vegancheck him out: he was 400 pounds at age 29, lost 250 pounds on a raw vegan diet, and inspires the heck out of people. This is Philip’s recipes for an alternative to popcorn that’s mega-yummy.
  • Cauliflower (1 whole, chopped into popcorn-sized pieces)
  • Nutritional yeast flakes (a whole lot: just pour it in, maybe 4-6 heaping tablespoons)
  • Sea salt (1/2 tsp. or more, to taste)
  • Black pepper (just shake it on)
  • Olive oil (1/2 to 1 tsp.)
  • Water (just a splash)

Measure and prepare all the ingredients for the Raw Popcorn and put in a gallon-size ZipLoc bag. Then shake that bag until your arms hurt. You can make it cheesier by adding more yeast.

  1. Thank you for sharing, and letting folk know about our Olympics shows.
It’s nice to know that Victoria misses the London weather – although the weather for the Olympics was actually really sunny, so perhaps if she had been here she would still have missed the drizzle!
