Neal Barnard, MD, is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

Dr. Barnard is known for his groundbreaking research studies showing that type 2 diabetes is a potentially reversible condition for many patients, and tackling a range of other serious conditions, from obesity and high cholesterol, to migraines and rheumatoid arthritis. He now addresses a surprising new area: how foods affect our hormones and all the mischief they can cause, from infertility and menstrual cramps to cancer. His new book, Your Body in Balance: The New Science of Food, Hormones, and Health, gives new hope for people dealing with what they thought had been insoluble conditions.

A shoutout to our sponsor, ComplementDeveloped by vegan dietitian Dr. Pamela Fergusson, and the NoMeat Athlete, Matt Frazier, Complement enables you to get your vitamin B12, vitamin D3, and the essential Omega 3 fatty acids (DHA & EPA) in an easy once-a-day spray. Click here for more info and to order. Use the code MAINSTREETVEGAN for a 10% discount.

And now the good folks of Complement have a new product: Complement Plus, a supplement in tablet form that includes all the nutrients in Complement spray, along with zinc, iodine, selenium,  magnesium, and vitamin K2. Essential for blood clotting, healthy bones, and heart health, the only plant-food source of vitamin K2 is natto, an obscure, fermented soy food and one that is definitely an acquired taste (and smell). To get Complement Plus at a discount, simply go to https://www.lovecomplement.com (where you can order regular Complement, as well), but this time your discount code will be MAINSTREETVEGAN+.
